Turning Green Fashion Show

We weren't feeling so great today with the gloomy skies, but our days got a lot brighter when we went to the Turning Green Fashion Show presented by Whole Foods and Teens for Safe Cosmetics. We were really excited to be one of the designers invited to present at the fashion show, so we definitely wanted to swing by and show our support.

When we walked in, we were greeted by a fantastic crowd (who managed to get all the way downtown despite the weather) and a life size poster of our Alison dress. Then when we looked inside the program, the Alison was featured again as an opening image. How nice!

The show was extremely well produced, in large part to eco-celeb Bahar Shahpar whose cute outfit was topped off by her headset. Speaking of people watching, we were excited by the great turnout- in the audience were Josh Dorfman of the Lazy Environmentalist, Tierra Del Forte (Del Forte Denim), host Zem Joaquin (Domino mag's Green Editor + ecofabulous blogger) and John Masters (John Masters Organics).

We're excited that the green movement is catching on and encouraged that even younger generations are getting involved. It definitely makes for a better tomorrow (which right now we're wishing were sunny and 70). But one step at a time.

More pics on Flickr.
p.s. Check out the great re-usable bag from Whole Foods and SIGG bottle that we received as a gift (which you can get a similar one here). Two more things that we'll be making room for in our own bags.

Best little bookstores- Boston and NYC

So you just can't find that book on 21st century infographics huh? Well, we know the just place(s) that might have it..

If you're like us and love small, well-edited bookstores (with great design titles) then stop by MIT's Press bookstore (yes, that MIT) in Boston and St. Mark's Bookshop in New York City.

Don't be fooled by their websites, it's worth the trek out as both have a great selection. We've loved St. Mark's Bookshop since moving to the city, but the MIT bookstore was a nice, stumble-upon find during a recent trip to Boston.

We're on Daily Candy!

We're really excited-

we just got posted on
Daily Candy's Boston edition!

Daily Candy is one of the biggest fashion blogs around, so we're honored to be posted about. And we're also big fans of
Boston (esp. Inessah).

Also a mention to
Envi boutique, located on Newbury St. which will be carrying our line for spring!

Deep in the Heart of Texas...

Austin to be exact- we got published in the Austin American Statesman in an article about Therapy's (one of the boutiques carrying our spring line) SXSW Eco-Style event. A day of trunk shows, music and live windows (!)- wish we could have been there.

Sprig(.com) for Spring

Sprig.com did a great post on our Alison dress, named after our friend and the original Sublet Clothing model.

Check out Sprig as it's a great place for both green and stylish information. In their own words:

"Sprig.com's mission is to motivate, inspire and inform 95% of the consumer population toward becoming 5% more green, as we believe this approach will have a great positive impact on the environment. Today, green is a choice; tomorrow, green is a lifestyle."

We couldn't agree more!

We've been blogged!

Let's face it- we're really excited that Treehugger.com did a posting on us!

We're big fans of the site, which is one of the biggest and most reliable source of what's happening in the green world.

This week we were interviewed this past week by two places: Fashion Indie and Charmingly Chic. Also, Creatures of Comfort did a beautiful post on us.
