We're on Glamour's eco-friendly shopping guide!

We were thrilled to find out that both the Anne and the Alison are being featured on Glamour's eco-friendly shopping guide! The Anne was the first one on the slide show- what a nice surprise to wake up to this morning!

Artist Chris Jordan's Ted.com talk

Ever since we saw his work featured in GOOD magazine, we've been fans of artist Chris Jordan's photography. Since then, we've had the pleasure of seeing his pieces in person and we just found his talk on Ted.com where he gives insight into his work. Enjoy!

p.s. Ted.com is pretty amazing in its own right!

Olio United- Portland, OR

I stumbled across this beautiful post about Olio United by
Design Sponge.

Olio United is owned by Cathy McMurray, Korrine James and David Williams and based in Portland. Community oriented and carrying only products that tell a good story, Olio United was their answer to unbridled consumerism. We love their gutsy mission and so glad we're a part of their solution.

Check out their beautiful window display of over 1,000 paper planes by Katie- amazing!

Katie, who works for Olio United, made this beautiful window display of over 1,000 planes! (That's patience..)

The finished window display- how beautiful!

Project Earth Day Fashion Show

Last night we headed to the
Project Earth Day Fashion Show at the Teknion showroom . We were so starved by the time we got there, we were about to nom just about anything. Thank goodness though they had great food and drinks (organic beer!) to keep us content until the fashion show.

After a bit of a delay, the show started and it was great to see the girls in Sublet coming down the runway. We took some pictures, albeit slightly blurry (apparently my panning technique needs a bit of work..)

After the show we stopped by the studio to work on a couple things for our upcoming Fall '08 collection (which you can get a small glimpse from our launch party).

To see more pics of the show, check out the student designers

MOMA visit

So the other day we headed to MOMA with some friends to check out their 'Design in the Elastic Mind' exhibit. We love visiting MOMA (it was some people's 2nd visit to the exhibit) and it's a bit of reunion anytime we go back (esp for Tara).

About the exhibit: "It focuses on designers' ability to grasp momentous changes in technology, science, and social mores, changes that will demand or reflect major adjustments in human behavior, and convert them into objects and systems that people understand and use."

We highly recommend seeing it and it's running through May 12, so you still have time. Best to go on a day when you can absorb yourself in each piece as a many of them are interactive. (Maybe we'll go back for a 3rd time... when it's not so busy.) If you can't go in person they have an online exhibit that is both frustrating and absorbing..
